The Baby Snow Fairy Fund

Welcome

The Baby Snow Fairy Fund was set up in memory of our daughter, Neve Faye. Her name means "Snow Fairy" which was the inspiration behind the fund's title. Neve was born the third of natural triplets in April 2010, at St. Peter's Hospital , Chertsey.

She was cared for in the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) by a wonderful team of specialists, doctors and nurses.

She weighed only 2lb 7oz, and after being transferred in a transportation cot (a machine that can regulate a baby's temperature and offers life-support all within one unit - that can be used on-the-go) just hours after being born, Neve became reliant on a ventilator. Although she soon became strong enough to breathe and feed for herself she battled infections for nearly three months; coming on and off life support.

Our baby girl tragically never made it home.

Our Aims and Achievements

Having suffered such an enormous loss, we, Neve's mummy and daddy, decided to use our love of our daughter and build a small charity to help raise money to buy new and technologically advanced equipment. Our initial goal was to help St. Peter's to purchase a new transportation cot. which is used to transport very poorly babies across the network hospitals safely. Following over five years of fundraising, we presented the NICU with a frighteningly large cheque for £30,000 and our first milestone was hit.

The fund has been supported by an array of incredible people. Friends, colleagues from Virgin Atlantic, other parents who have lost loved ones too, our families - the list goes on... These people have motivated and inspired us to do even more. The network of special units across Sussex and Surrey depend on charitable funds to provide sick and premature babies with vital specialist, life-saving equipment and for baby care equipment that lie outside of NHS funding. Please help us to achieve our mission to fund new medical equipment and hands-on care facilities so that these hospitals can harness the latest technologies and ideas, and, in turn, save more babies' lives.
